Insurance Company & Claims Recording Systems

Insurance Company & Claims Recording Systems

Insurance companies historically do a lot of recording, primarily the claims adjusters take recorded statements but there are other recording uses for the insurance industry.
Typically an adjuster takes recorded statements either by telephone or in the field. Either way, we have a great digital solution.
For field adjusters, we have a few different professional digital recorders. We have the Philips 9500, Philips 9600, the Olympus DS-5000, Olympus 5000iD and the Olympus LS-11.
There are other recording solutions available but these are common.
An important part of insurance companies and claims adjusters is taking phone statements and having the ability to record both ends of the conversation. You can do just that with any of the digital recorders we sell. You will need a telephone adapter which daisy chains with your recorder and the telephone handset and get crystal clear, bi-directional telephone call recording. You can then store the recorded statement on your network for future reference and/or you can have it transcribed using one of our transcription kits such as the Philips LFH-7277 or the Olympus AS-5000.
THE BEST SOLUTION WE HAVE FOR CLAIMS ADJUSTERS IS OUR CUSTOM COMPUTER BASED RECORDING SYSTEM THAT IS CUSTOM TAILORED FOR INSURANCE COMPANIES. It's called the "CLAIMS LOGGER" and it records directly to the PC and renders digital quality, bi-directional telephone recordings right to your computer. No recorder needed.
FEATURES OF CLAIM LOGGER:
Record two way (or more) phone calls directly to your PC.
Customized data fields specific to the insurance industry to identify recorded statements. Put claim date, claimant name, claim number and more into file.
Easily send for archiving or transcription.
No recording device needed. Just a PC and sound card (and standard telephone).
Costs less than a digital recorder (under $200).
Perfect solution for “stay home” claims adjusters.
Can be used in tandem with a portable digital recorder for those who do both outside statements and inside statements.

VOICE RECOGNITION EXPLAINED

VOICE (SPEECH) RECOGNITION IS THE PROCESS OF CONVERTING DIGITALLY RECORDED VOICE INTO EDITABLE TEXT. THERE ARE TWO FUNDAMENTAL TYPES OF VOICE (SPEECH) RECOGNITION METHODS AND THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPANIES EMPLOYING SPEECH RECOGNITION TECHNOLOGY. THE MOST NOTABLE IS NUANCE’S DRAGON NATURALLY SPEAKING. BELOW WE WILL EXPLAIN, IN DETAIL, HOW THE TWO TYPES OF SPEECH RECOGNITION WORK.

THE TWO TYPES OF SPEECH RECOGNITION:

1) Front End Speech Recognition: This is where the person speaks and the voice is translated into text immediately on your computer screen. Though this method is functional and amazingly accurate these days, it can be time consuming and inconvenient for professionals such as doctors and attorneys who often do not have the time to sit and wait for the software to process his or her voice and produce a text document and then make the corresponding corrections if necessary. It may be convenient for quick notes or dictation memos but can also work fine for long dictations. It depends on the user’s willingness to learn the software. It is simply a personal preference thing. Some are willing to do it and some are not.

2) Back End Speech Recognition: This is a more productive method and requires no input from the person dictating other than the actual dictating. The person will dictate a letter, note, matter etc., and the completed voice file will be sent automatically to a Speech Recognition Server which will process the voice file, create a text document and send it to a location where a typist can retrieve the text file along with the actual voice file and have footpedal controls with play, FF and rewind controls. They will do it all from their computer. After the typist finishes making necessary corrections, the file is sent back to the server for acoustic and/or contextual adaptation so the system will continue to learn and become more and more accurate as time goes on regardless of whom is dictating. This is the preferred method in an enterprise environment such as a hospital or medium to large law firm or other types of firms such as insurance or law enforcement who may have interest in speech recognition.
